Why I Started a New Blog When I Already Have 4

Many of you may not know that I own and manage four blogs and I recently started a new one. As a mom to twins, a freelance writer, coach and author of a freelance course, you can see Im pretty busy. Why would I even fathom starting a new blog when I already have 4? I dont know a lot about other freelance writers except the ones I hang out with (hey Lorraine!) but I like starting new projects. And other bloggers feel the same way! Cori Ramos of Not Now Moms Busy started a new blog called CorinaRamos.net. Freelance writer Alicia Rades, has her freelance site, author site and blogging guide site. Im creative and love exploring the creative and passionate side of freelance writing. If youre considering starting another blog, but just not sure you can handle it or really think its a good idea, Im here to tell you go for it! There are a ton of benefits to having more than one blog. But, before I get into that, I want to let you in on why I created TwinsMommy in the first place. What? Another Mom Blog? (Not Really) About a month ago I was sitting around talking with my hubby about the idea of starting another blog. See, currently I have four blogs: Innovative Ink – my professional writer website for my freelance writing business FreelancerFAQs – a multi-author site for freelancers. I own, manage and contribute to the blog LifeStyleBody – a multi-author lifestyle blog. I try to contribute to this blog when I can, but I mainly manage the content schedule and the guest contributors ElnaCain – this site! You see, this blog here is the only one I consistently have to write posts for. All the others either dont have a blog or have multiple authors. So, the idea of having another personal blog like ElnaCain, didnt seem like a huge jump. I write one blog post a week for this blog, I knew I would have time to write another post, so I went ahead and started TwinsMommy. I wanted a broader site about moms, blogging and freelancing. While I touch a little bit on being a mom and a freelance writer on my ElnaCain site, that is not my focus; my focus is on providing tips for new and budding freelance writers. With this new site, I would talk more about my life with twins, but also speak to moms who are or thinking about working from home. And thats what TwinsMommy is about! But, as I started writing posts and attracting an audience, I learned that I wanted to do more than just talk about being a work-at-home mom, I wanted to help these mamas go from being a mom to being a mompreneur. I decided early on that I wanted to try monetizing a new blog in a new niche. Im happy with how TwinsMommy turned out – both visually, branding wise and content wise – and cant believe how some of my posts have had tons of shares and over 50 comments already! Ive already been asked to contribute on three blogs and I belong to several private Facebook mommy blogger groups that are highly supportive. Besides the generosity and supportive nature, what other benefits are there to starting a new blog? 1. Im Reaching a New Audience I was a bit worried that I would be attracting the same audience as I have for this blog, but Ive met so many new people that I know Im reaching a new audience. One thing you can do for your freelance career is to network and extend your reach as far as you can online. By e-meeting new bloggers and networking with other people, you start joining new inner circles, which just gets your name out there more. 2. Im Sparking My Creativity I love designing and branding things. Visuals are my thang! So, when I have the opportunity to extend my creative wings and design, Im all for it. I designed the TwinsMommy logo and tried something new by using a gradient to incorporate pink and blue to signify my boy/girl twins. I created a visual brand for each of my TwinsMommy images, which is helping me form a brand with my images on this blog. And, the best thing about starting TwinsMommy was the flood of blog post ideas! Because I had a broader list of topics to write about (work from home, productivity, mompreneur, twins life and blogging) I came up with dozens and dozens of blog post ideas in under an hour. This creativity extended to generating ideas for clients and for this blog too. 3. A New Income Stream One of the best ways you can always ensure a healthy income as a freelance writer is by diversifying your income. My plan for TwinsMommy is to grow that blog so that I can eventually monetize it. Whether its with affiliate marketing or designing another course, this is a nice way to generate more income. And who doesnt like more money, right? Although TwinsMommy isnt generating any income – unless someone clicks on a link back to my site and buys my course – Ill be gearing up for that in the next few months. 4. Its Helping Me Build My Design Portfolio In my 2016 goals post I mentioned that Im planning on opening up a website design/development company called InkLink. While Im hoping this service will be up and running soon, for now Im growing my portfolio whenever I create a new site. This will help once I launch InkLink and give customers some ideas of what types of sites me and my husband design. 5. Its A New Marketing Strategy I mention this blog and my course several times in my TwinsMommy blog posts. This isnt a mistake; rather, its a calculated effort to grow a new audience and get my course to these new people. Because of TwinsMommy, Im focusing my efforts on Pinterest marketing and even signed up for Tailwind to help me grow my following and traffic which is totally working! When Do I Have Time to Do This All? Currently Im writing two blog posts a week over on TwinsMommy! And, like I mentioned, one blog post a week here. I also have a full plate of client work during the month as well. So, I really dont have a lot of time to spare, but why am I writing two posts a week when I have about a ba-jillion projects due each month? For starters, its a new blog and it needs content to grow authority and ranking in Google. Ill do my best to post twice a week, but I know there will be a time when I will have to drop it to once a week. Another reason I am doing two posts a week over there is because I can do it.   Writing in this freelance/work at home/blogging niche is in my wheelhouse and I can whip out posts in under an hour no problem. Especially if they are about me. Im crossing my fingers that I can keep up with this content schedule, especially since summer is usually slow online, I feel I can keep it up until the fall at least. Its all fine and good that the Dow Jones finished up 35 points to close at 8738, but what does that really mean? What Is  the Dow? The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI), commonly just referred to as simply The Dow, is an average of the price of 30 different stocks. The stocks represent 30 of the largest and most widely publicly traded stocks in the United States. The index measures how these companies stocks have traded over the course of a standard trading session in the stock market. It is the second-oldest and one of the most referenced stock market index in the United States.  The Dow Jones Corporation, the administrators of the index, modifies the stocks being tracked in the index from time to time to best reflect the largest and most widely traded stocks of the day. The divisor is there to take into account stock splits and mergers which also makes the Dow a scaled average. If the Dow werent calculated as a scaled average, the index would decrease whenever a stock split took place. To illustrate this, suppose a stock on the index worth $100 splits is split or divided into two stocks each worth $50. If the administrators did not take into account that there are twice as many shares in that company as before, the DJI would be $50 lower than before the stock split because one share is now worth $50 instead of $100. The Dow Divisor The divisor is determined by weights placed on all the stocks (due to these mergers and acquisitions) and as a result, it changes quite often. For example, on November 22, 2002, the divisor was equal to 0.14585278, but as of September 22, 2015, the divisor is equal to 0.14967727343149.   What this means is that if you took the average cost of each of these 30 stocks on September 22, 2015, and divided this number by the divisor 0.14967727343149, youd get the closing value of the DJI on that date, which was 16330.47. You can also use this divisor to see how an individual stock influences the average. Because of the formula used by the Dow, a one point increase or decrease by any stock will have the same effect, which is not the case for all indices. Dow Jones Industrial Average Summary So the Dow Jones number you hear on the news each night is simply this weighted average of stock prices. Because of this, the Dow Jones Industrial Average should just be considered a price in itself. When you hear that the Dow Jones went up 35 points, it just means that to buy these stocks (taking into account the divisor) at 4:00 p.m. EST that day (the closing time of the market), it would have cost $35 more than it would have cost to buy the stocks the day before at the same time.

Book of Prophet Isaiah Essay Prophet Isaiah, the son of Amos, was descended from a royal tribe. Isaiah was born during the reign of King Uzziah, Jothan, Ahaz, Hezekiah and Jehovah. During his reign the nation as a whole enjoyed times of prosperity and temporal development. The whole nation mourned his passing from the scene at a time when his presence seemed needed the most. Under him the worship of Jehovah was encouraged but he was not strong enough to secure the destruction of the high places where idolatrous practices were continued. His reign must be ranked as one of the outstanding of the southern kingdom. He walked in the ways of his father, and under him the people continued to worship the Lord Jehovah after the manner of the commandment, though still the places of idolatry were allowed to remain. Ahaz, whose whole reign was one chronicle of disaster and destruction. With an absolute abandon, Ahaz gave himself over to the overthrow of the ordained order of worship, broke the commandment in almost every detail, destroyed the temple worship and finally closed the doors of the house of God. In the most calculated manner he conspired to obliterate the memory of the service of the Lord of all Israel, the Redeemer and the Holy One. Then he was followed on the throne by his son Hezekiah, who was very unlike his fathers and set about reviving the worship in the temple, which his father had abolished. He attempted, with some success to obliterate idol worship, and to deliver his people from the yoke of foreign power. It was under him that Isaiah came into his own, and was treated with high favour. In this position he was given every opportunity for the use of his keen and divinely inspired power of discernment into the facts of the contemporary situation. The name, Isaiah, means Jehovah saves, or Jehovah is salvation, and through days of crisis and disaster greater than any before in the history of the people, his call was constantly to faith in the One Who alone could save the land. His role was ever that of inspiring and challenging the drooping spirits of the men of Judah at times when hope seemed dead. His ministry was a long one stretching as it did through the reigns of Uzziah, Jothan, Ahaz and Hezekiah. His fathers name was Amoz, and there is a Jewish tradition that he was a brother of King Amaziah; in which case Isaiah would be the cousin of King Uzziah. Naturally enough, it is impossible to be really sure of this, but it is certainly a reasonable explanation of the fact that Isaiah enjoyed immediate and regular entrance to the royal house. And also that he had the ear of the most influential people of his day. In spite of this, he remained a simple and undaunted spokesman for Jehovah, and tradition again affirms that it was for this reason that he was put to death in the reign of the wicked Manasseh, Hezekiahs successor. He was married and he himself called his wife the prophetess (Isaiah 8:3). He had two children, one named Shear-jashubl, which means a remnant shall return, and the other Maher-shalalhashbaz, which means haste ye to the spoil. These names were given to them as portents of what was to come and also as a reinforcement of the prophets predictive message. Apart from this, there is little else known of his personal history except what is found in the book itself. The exact length of his ministry is not known for sure, but he definitely laboured for at least forty years. From the last year of King Uzziahs reign 740 B.C. to the fourteenth year of ther reign of King Hezekiah in 701 B.C. and it is clear that through all this period of time his call and challenge were unremitting and persistent. His aim was ever definite the establishment of the worship of the Lord in righteousness and truth amongst the chosen race. His Message Isaiahs prophecy, the longest of all the Old Testament prophecies divides first of all quite naturally into two parts, chapters 1-39, and 40-66. Because of this split, critics during the last century have seen fit to decide that two separate authors are responsible for the prophecy and that the second one was written some hundred years after the first one. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the prophecy itself by the way of names and such like to establish the truth or the falsehood of this statement. However the nature of the second part of the book seems to indicate that it was said to a nation at a time when they were in a completely different condition from that of the exile in Babylon, during which time some people maintain that it was written. As well as these two separate parts, the prophecy also divides into nine sections.
